Stillness is power

I’ve taken more time to indulge my interest in sports, watching more than playing, but falling out with football with its violence have continued to enjoy golf and tennis, and even become a fan of my father’s team, the NY Yankees!  This week has me torn between my work and watching the World Cup, along with the “Championships at Wimbledon”!   It’s fascinating watching all that crowd energy, the strive for excellence and winning, and team effort.  The world comes together to cheer each country’s team while gaining some admiration for “the other’s” skill, breaking down a bit of nationalist chauvinism on the side.

Many are working so hard, burning themselves out.  A few are learning some old principles.  We live in an age of constant go, go, go, to get, get, get.   When all the while, what we truly desire is already with us, within us.   And it knows how to manifest itself!

“Mind demonstrates omnipresence and omnipotence, but Mind revolves on a spiritual axis, and its power is displayed and its presence felt in eternal stillness and immovable love.”

“The best spiritual type of Christly method for uplift human thought and imparting divine Truth, is stationary power, stillness, and strength; and when this spiritual ideal is made our own, it becomes the model for human action.”

Mary Baker Eddy

Don’t know Mr. Kramer’s background, but he certainly speaks the truth, for athletes and all of us:
