So, what’s this site all about?

It’s a forum, it’s a platform for me to share and encourage all of us to live our lives from a higher standard than we’ve been taught.  Each of us comes into this world on a path, some conscious, mostly not.  It usually involves some form of getting ahead, getting a better life, more stuff, achieving something, winning, proving, the list goes on.

Along with a host of others from Buddha to the advice columnists all over the internet, I’m promoting the idea there’s more to life than meets the eye.  Or the ears, the taste buds, the sensory nerve ends, whatever.

I will begin with something my mother sent me a long time ago which I cherish, it showed me that perhaps in spite of our difficult relationship, she did understand and appreciate her only daughter, at least a little.

“To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly; to listen to the stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart; to bear on cheerfully, do all bravely, awaiting occasions, worry never; in a word to, like the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common.”
